Halloween and Grandma/Grandpa visit
We had a great time with my parents, who came to visit us for a week. We went to the New Orleans Audubon Zoo and it was a ton of fun! Josh was a cowboy for Halloween, and he didn't think too much of it-he didn't like the hat, and didn't seem to interrested in it all. Maybe next year. Grandma taugh him "noses" (Eskimo kisses) and he does it all the time now. I will try to get come videos up of noses, his 'snoring' and the way he plays peek-a-boo...stay tuned.

We had such a great time in Tupelo this past weekend for Weston's 1st birthday party. Josh was wonderful in the car, both there and back, and I can't tell you how relieved I was!!! It was so nice to see Will and Betsy again, we sure do miss you guys!! Josh and Weston had fun playing together, just like old times.

It's been a while since I've updated this, so here are some pictures of recent events. I have some great videos but I keep getting errors when I try to upload.
Waiting for our first haircut
He doesn't look too sure about this...maybe it's the leopard cape
We had to have a comb in each hand and the water bottle to keep My Busy Body entertained

A place to call home
Friday we will be closing on our house! I cannot tell you how excited I am to finally be settled and get the heck out of this temporary living on base! We found a great house at a great price and are just thrilled to get into it. I'll have to take more pictures once we are set up. Monday Dan received a call from the base housing office that a house opened up and we could move in right away. The irony of it all... Hopefully it made someone else's day.
(Sorry the picture is so little, I can't get it bigger)
My parents are flying in Friday evening and Josh can't wait to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa! They haven't seen him since November and they will be amazed at how much he can do now. He is back to being a fusspot, and I'm thinking maybe his top teeth are trying to come in. He won't hold still long enough for me to get a peek, so we'll have to wait and see. Still no crawling, but he is up on all 4's and rocking like a wild man!
We went to the Keesler air show this past weekend and Josh did well for all the loud rumbles. Dan and I both agreed, we do NOT miss the loud jets that were at Shaw! It was a great sunny day and it was nice to get out and about.

Trying to crawl
Earlier this week I saw on my friend Betsy's blog that her son Weston was in his crib working on his crawling skills by rocking back and forth. The very same day I went to check on Joshua during his nap and found him doing the same thing!! Here he is:

Loving this weather!!
We went to the marina on base yesterday and enjoyed all this sunshine. It was Joshua's first time for a lot of things--seeing fishing boats, going down the slide, swinging, and feeling the sand beneath his toes. The weather has been gorgeous (up to 80!) so we are trying to take full advantage of it. Josh's new 'thing' is blowing bubbles with his tongue. He LOVES to make noise/talk all day, grab his toes, and blow lots of bubbles. I also spotted a little hole in his bottom gum where a tooth is trying ever so hard to come through. He is such a happy and active boy I wouldn't be surprised if he up and walked some day soon! His legs are always in motion kicking and rocking himself in his bouncy seat. He is very good with his hands and likes to "type" on the keyboard. (Those of you who we've Skyped have seen his data entry skills)
No major news in the housing department. We moved to 30 on the waiting list, and supposedly 16 of those are in leases through May (theoretically making us 14). While we are still hopeful it will be (very) soon, we're trying not to get ahead of ourselves until there is a key in our hand. We purchased a whole new living room set from Ashley furniture and it is on hold until we tell them where to deliver it. It will be great to finally get out of this temporary living spot and settled into our own home. More updates as they unfold.
